We are set to speak with Bruce Pearl, Dylan Cardwell and Tre Donaldson here in a moment.
Please follow along for all updates by refreshing.
- Pleased to be 2-0. "We've played two good teams. We were down 24 minutes to South Florida."
- "We're playing hard, but we're not finishing. Obviously we turned the ball over a lot. Missed a lot of shots inside and outside."
- Winthrop has good backcourt play. Mentions a new front court player
- "There's a chance that Chance plays some. If he does, it will be 15 minutes."
- Johni's ankle is still bothering him. If he can't move, Stretch will be the next guy in. Johni wants to play through it. (He's one point away from his 1,000th point.)
- On variety of opponents? "Absolutely (likes it). I know you guys get tired of me talking these guys up. You haven't beaten me up for it ... These guys (Winthrop) knows how to win."
- Mentions Hightower going up against Yohan: "That's a tough matchup for him." Talking about the age difference.
- Next we have Texas Southern who just beat Arizona State.
- Johni was a little bit more active yesterday after a day off Saturday.
- "Tre has been, from the start of the summer through this fall, has continued to make consistent progress. He's confident. He's tough. He knows how to win. He doesn't act like a freshman." Has allowed BP to play Zep off the ball.
- On the defensive start: "The defense has been great. Our guys' effort has been great. We are going to hang our hat on our defense and effort and rebounding."
- "Not always, no. But part of that is it's early in the season." - on if he is happy with shot selection
DYLAN CARDWELL AND TRE DONALDSON
- The kid who dances on the Jumbotron with Dylan is named Will. "Will is my boy."
- "This is a very hard working team. It frustrates me to see the ball not go in. Jasper is currently putting up shots. I think we are taking the right shots." - Dylan
- Dylan and Tre agree that the rims might be too tight here at Auburn
- "It would mean a lot. I'm excited to see him play in front of the Jungle." - Dylan on Chance possibly coming back Tuesday
- "We just have to have the confidence to knock them down." - Tre on shooting
- ""I'm going to play physical no matter what." - Tre
- Tre is asked about the secondary's performance on Saturday. "I have no comment" he says with a laugh.
- Dylan thinks his biggest improvement is not jumping at everything, not buying the jump fake.
- "I learned a lot. I learned when not to jump and when to jump. He had no fear with jumping." - Dylan on learning from Walker Kessler
- Tre on learning from Wendell: "Just play. When I first got here I just asked him a lot of questions."
- "I try very hard to get my team extra possessions." - Dylan on offensive rebounding
That's it for those two.
