Auburn press release...
Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl’s surgery on his left knee was successful. The total knee replacement surgery was performed by Dr. Brett Smith under the recommendation of Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla., at Baptist Hospital on Monday.
“I’m extremely thankful for Dr. Smith, Dr. Andrews and Dr. Goodlett for their expertise and care,” said Pearl. “At Auburn, we have the best team of doctors and medical and training staff in the country.
“The knee was in really bad shape, and it feels absolutely wonderful now. It is amazing, and I am very fortunate. I will spend a lot of time with our trainers, and it will get me close to the players this spring while working on rehab.”
Pearl will use a walker for two weeks and will go through rehabilitation.
