Brine-Boiling Ribs

I know this sounds like a sacrilege for a BGE guy like me, but someone told me about brine/boiling ribs for 30 mins with onions, garlic, kosher salt & sugar, then put them on the grill for carmelizing & crust with BBQ sauce and rub. Has anyone ever tried this? Guy said they were the best he’s ever done and super tender. I’m going to now duck...
