This is a textbook example of why police reforms are urgently needed. This officer clearly lacked the training and likely also, the basic temperament, needed to carry out his job. The officers already on the scene were trying to deescalate the situation. The murderer arrived, was clearly agitated and immediately seized it as an opportunity to needlessly kill someone. This situation also another example which demonstrates police violence is not a strictly racial issue.
