...and don't make much sense. We go to UTjr. and lose a VERY competitive game against the #4 team, then pretty much control a good MSU team at home. As a result, we drop 2 spots in the AP and 3 in the coaches poll. I know it depends on what others do too, but I really thought we'd drop maybe 1 spot.
Then there's Marquette. They have the same record we do, but are ranked #8 in AP and #9 in coaches poll. I haven't watched them, but what makes the "eggsperts" have such a high opinion of them? I looked at their schedule and it's nothing like the gauntlet we face in the SEC. Other than beating Kansas in the Maui Invitational way back in November, I see nothing special about their season. They mostly play a bunch of unranked teams. Maybe they meet the eye test, but what justifies a number 8 ranking otherwise?
