Basketball experts, the double dribble

Called on CBM late, he caught the pass, jumped up to shoot, then dribbles before his feet touch. That is not "up and down" or is it?
UH's Sharp did the same thing but was afraid to pick it back up.
Both plays, which I don't think are double dribbling since they let the ball go before they came down, were crucial for UF to win. I didn't see anyone discuss it.
Did CBM actually double dribble?
