Just in case you were wondering, here's how Auburn stacks up against the top SEC teams in Portal Wars 2021...
This is hard data with no inference drawn by the OP... do with it what you will (I do offer a take at the end).
AUBURN 15 transferred out; 3* transferred in (*they listed Tutt as both an out and an in, but I count him as in since, well, he is)
Alabama 7 out; 1 in
Georgia 11 out; 1 in
LSU 11 out; 1 in
Florida 10 out; 2 in
Notables: Arky has 13 out but already has 6 transferred in; even better (if there is such a thing) is Kentucky, with only 10 out and 6 in; leading the transfer out group so far is Tennessee with an incredible 33 out and 7 in, followed by Miss. St with 20 transfers, but they also have 6 in; Mizzo is 15-2, Ole Miss is hanging with Bama at 7-2; leading in the ratio department is uscE at 11-8; with a BAD ratio is aTm at 17-1; and finally Vandy at 19-3, with one of their 3 transfers in coming from... wait for it... BAMA. But it was a kicker, so there's that.
MY TAKE: Considering Auburn has undergone a near complete coaching staff change, I certainly don't think the numbers warrant a "Sky is falling" response. The top teams are leading the pack, as far as least transfers, but uscE, Arky and Ky are doing pretty well, at least in the ratio department.
Now the real test of who does best will come in the quality of players lost compared to the quality brought in. And that won't be known until well into the season, IMO.
Yore thoughts on the transfer portal data thus far?
