Not a great week for AU players not named Chris Davis..
Eagles:
Cody Parkey - 2/3 XP
Colts:
Quan Bray - 1 SP tackle, 1 Kick Return / 26 yards.
Lions:
Gabe Wright - 1 tackle
Chiefs:
Dee Ford - 2 tackles, 1 TFL
Pack:
Jermaine Whitehead - 2 tackles
49ers:
Chris (There Goes) Davis - 6 tackles, 5 solo, 2 TFL
Steelers:
Sammie Coates - 2 receptions / 66 yards 1 TD
Bucs:
Peyton Barber - 9 carries / 16 yards, 1 reception / 6 yards.
Panthers:
Cam Newton - 13/29 100 yards 2 INTs, 1 rush / 9 yards.
CAP - 9 carries / 28 yards, 1 reception / 12 yards
Falcons:
R Therezie - 2 tackles, 1 solo
Josh Harris - 1 SP tackle
Texans:
Jay Prosch - 2 carries / 3 yards
Chad Slade - played meaningful snaps at RG
Bengals:
CJ Uzomah - 1 reception / 10 yards
Pat Sims - 2 tackles, 2 SOLO
Karlos Dansby - 2 tackles, 1 SOLO
Jags:
Sen'derrick Marks - 2 tackles, 2 SOLO, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 2 QB hits
Corey Grant - 2 KR / 67 yards
NOTES:
Reese Dismukes waived by Panthers
Cass McKinzy cut by Bucs
Ryan White cut by Falcons
I expect several more AU players to be released before the final 53 man rosters are released. Among those I would expect to see:
Neiko Thorpe
Nick Marshall
Jay Prosch
Duke Williams
Blake Countess
Trovon Reed
On the bubble:
Corey Lemonier
Jermaine Whitehead
Peyton Barber
Devonte Lambert
Cody Parkey
Side notes:
Ricardo Louis has yet to be targeted in the preseason. His only stats have been special teams tackles.
I believe Brandon King will maintain a roster spot with the Pats for the third year in a row to the complete dismay of the bunker. (Fire Ellis Johnson)
I also believe Jay Jones has locked down a roster spot with the Pats. He has been highly praised throughout the offseason and preseason.
Dee Ford could also be playing his last season in the NFL if he doesn't have a breakout year. I feel like Ford and Lemonier are in the same boat, and will have opportunities early in the season to make an impact due to injuries on their respective teams, but if they don't make the most of them we could possibly see both roaming the sidelines on Saturday's in AU next year. (more than likely as co-d-line coaches if I had to wager a guess)
