2004 at the San Juan shootout. I actually didn’t know that. Well, I knew we won it, but didn’t know it was the last one. Fun fact about that: We won the tournament but LOST the last game. How did that happen? It was a round-robin style. Both Auburn and Middle Tennessee St. finished 2-1 in the four team tournament. Auburn beat MTSU in game 2, but the actual tiebreaker was total margin of victory, and we blew out Delaware by 28 in Game 1.
We won the same tournament in 2002 (which preceded our Sweet 16 run). But that year we actually won all three games. There was a tad bit more celebration than the 2004 title (which ended with a loss to Toledo). So I would count that as our last real regular season tourney title.
