I’ve seen it posted numerous times that some have heard about us being worried about the potato crew threatening to quit if we fire harsin mid season and not having enough staff to finish the year.
Every one of our assistant coaches (except friend) has a contract that runs through January 31, 2024. So basically they have the rest of this year and next year salaries they are owed if we fire them. If they quit we don’t owe them the rest of their contract. Im only listing the Boise crew bc the other coaches are not dumb enough to make such a horrible career and financial move. Also, why TF are we paying Jeff schmedding 1mil per year?
Jeff Schmedding, defensive coordinator : $1 million. Quit and he loses 1 mil plus what’s left for this year.
Eric Kiesau, offensive coordinator : $800,000 per year. Quit and he loses 800k plus what’s left for this year.
Roc Bellantoni, special teams coordinator/outside linebackers: $450,000. quit and he loses 450k plus what’s left for this year. Edit to say he may not be a Boise guy. Some posters feel very strong about this. Lol.
Brad Bedell, tight ends: $400,000. quit and he’s loses 400k plus what’s left for this year.
Jeff Pitman, strength and conditioning: $400,000. Quit and he loses 400k plus what left on his contract.
so if these fools quit we save about 2.8 million plus what’s left this year (about 750k-1mil?) so total about 3-4 million we save.
these guys will be in very very low demand unless harsin gets another job soon. Jeff Schmedding ain’t making 1mil anywhere else or it would take him 3-5 years to make 1 mil even if he got a non-coordinator job somewhere. Big if there too.
I say call their bluff. They would be a bunch of dumbasses to leave this amount of money on the table versus just coaching 2 more months.
