Anyone ever given up a dog?

Have a 3 yr old Brittany Spaniel that's very hyper and always jumps on ppl when they come over. He's a good dog and we've been through a lot with the little guy (had some Health issues as a pup) but thinking about sending him to our vet for adoption. Still will have our 8 yr old lab whos mellowed out. just wondering if anyone else has faced this and if there's any regret that comes along with it. TIA.
