started off 1-2 with losses to South Florida and got Croomed by MSU (both at home). Somehow figured out a way to beat Kansas St in the opener with a pretty bad offensive performance. Everyone was calling for Brandon Cox to get benched and to start true freshman Kody Burns at QB. Our offense simply sucked.
That team was able to pull it's head out of it's a$$, got the offensive line playing as a cohesive unit (made the move with the freshman), knock off the #2 team in the country at the time with the Heisman winner that year on it, take the National champion down to the final second, and have an overall solid season.
I am not saying the concerns aren't huge right now, they very much are. A lot of people in the country considered Gus Malzahn and Will Muschamp (who was the DC of the 2007 team) to be elite minds and coaches on their sides of the respective football based on what they have done over a meaningful sample size of time.
All of our running backs are new and our O-line is trying to gel with a new center. We will get better. I have no idea if we will get to where we need to be in 6 days before heading down to Baton Rouge. As much as we all think we know about football from years of watching Auburn games, it may not be as bad as it feels or seems.
