My backyard fescue lawn has all but died out this summer. Last summer, the yard was a mud pit, so I was very pleased to see how well the newly seeded fescue did in the fall and spring. I do water consistently and have gone through the motions of fertilizing. I plan to aerate and seed again this fall, but at this point I’m scared to put down more tall fescue if it will just die out every summer. My backyard is tough because there is a lot of shade, but there are large areas that get full sun in the summer. Any tips on how to keep this from dying out every summer? I’m not against trying another type of grass.
