I was gone for a while. Had to deal with some losses in the last few months. I’ve been lurking but not posting until Saturday night.
I’m not anyone special, not an insider and I’ve never been in the Bunkers Best Poster Bracket, nor have I been in the Worst Poster Bracket. Although this post may end that run.
During the struggle my mom had with cancer, you guys were awesome. Some of you reached out personally and that was great. I appreciate you all.
As the last month of her life closed I was with her 24/7. I loved in that lady as much as I could have. We patched up old hurt feelings that didn’t matter anymore anyway. At night while she slept, I kept reading Auburn Sports AND the bunker. Taters thoughts, Stultzy’s Ramblings, Bryan’s music history and the Bunk always reminded me that I had an adopted family that even though they weren’t physically with me, they would be there when I was ready for them and needed them. Some would have made the trip to Wetumpka if I had asked.
Mom passed on August 7. We put her body to rest on August 12 ( my grandmother’s birthday) on August 21 my stepmother passed so I am loving on my 80 year old father now.
I say all of this to let you know that God is still God during the down seasons. Family is still family during the down years. Friends are still friends during the down years. Lean on those truths. If you are a believer, GREAT!! If you are not, OK!! My job is not to belittle you into being a believer. It is to make myself the kind of Christian that you want to talk to if you ever have questions about being a believer.
Be good to each other. Everyone has struggles and the words you say have impact. Long lasting impact.
