Welcome to another installment of Another Day on the QB Beat. Exciting times are coming to the plains as it is now “go time” for the Tigers and their quest to find a QB for the 2023 season.

Before we get into the QB discussion, I want to first remind all of you how much we appreciate you subscribing to auburn sports dot com. We value every one of you. Don’t forget to send in your super chat, leave a five star review and SMASH that like button.

A little house keeping before we get started. No names will be used. We don’t want to scare any of the top target off. We know you understand.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

Nebraska Guy – As was exclusively reported by PowerMan, he was on campus this weekend. NG is an athletic QB in the mold of Tommy Frazier and Eric Crouch. It is our understanding that Nebraska Guy left without a committable offer. The staff is slow playing NG as he is a desirable target, but not The Target. The strategy is risking as Florida will be in the mix here. We do know NG thinks Auburn is a “special place” which should provide a lot of comfort to the fanbase.

Michigan State Guy – Michigan State guy sent the interwebs into a flurry when he announced his portal entrance on Saturday. Many believe this is Auburns top QB target. Many compare MSG favorably to Drew Stanton and Kirk Cousins. He is turnover prone having thrown double digit INTs in both of the last two seasons. He makes up for being a turnover machine by being able to make all the throws. Some say “7 L Mel” ($1 to tMB) is blaming MSG for the losing season, but I don’t see it that way. I see a kid that wants to leave the hell that is East Lansing for the sun drenched plains of Southeast Alabama. Look for MSG to be on campus before the week is out with a committable offer in hand.

Unnamed ACC Guy – This guy is comparable to the smoke show you saw at every party who teased you into believing you had a chance only to leave you with a massive case of blue (pardon the pun) balls. She is the devil (pardon the pun) to a 19 yo male just as UACCG is to a QB needy coach. If UACCG were to enter the portal, Alabama would be in play despite getting the Notre Dame cast off. Being the tease he is, UACCG has reached out to Bama to gauge their interest as well.

Unnamed SEC Guy 1 – This one is a long shot, but worth mentioning. As everyone knows, any interconference would require a waiver. Coaching changes are typically grounds for a waiver to be granted. While an active SEC coach has never died, the SEC would likely see this as coaching change and grant a waiver. Again, long shot, but worth mentioning.

Unnamed SEC Guy 2 –Unnamed SEC Guy 2 was a full time starter for an 8 win team last season who has already used the portal once. In this case, he would take advantage of the graduate transfer rule to get out of a situation where the head coach brought in another transfer to take his spot at QB1. Even though he would be a graduate transfer, the SEC would still have to grant a waiver to allow another SEC school to scoop him up. Similar to Unnamed SEC Guy 1, Unnamed SEC Guy 2 would be in uncharted waters with his waiver request. It is believed he will claim his head coach is on the spectrum which has damaged the QB’s career arc. Many are whispering in the SEC offices that the QB has a compelling case, but unclear how the SEC will rule.

ADOTQBB Magic 8 Ball

These things are tricky, but we here at ADOTQBB don’t mind taking strong definitive position and defending them. Look for Auburn to overpay Michigan State Guy and have him committed before the end of the week. 6-6 here we come.
