Not goin to do an IN DEPTH breakdown (cause he still probably goin to Texas or Louisville) but since we made his top 5 here's Marcus Carr
6'2 PG 195 lbs, would probably want a starting PG spot on his next team (would probably mean him + wendell splitting time and moving zep to SG which would be kinda rough)
2019 his 3pt % took a massive jump but dipped again this last year. Great assist numbers, and really great steal numbers. Seems like a volume shooter. Also something to note is that he was pushing 36 minutes a game! to keep those averages while playing heavy minutes is pretty impressive!
Efficient scorer for rsure. Defensive rebounding numbers are great. Assist% and Stl% are really high. High usage (which youd expect from NBA caliber players). great ball handler. Offensive rating is really really good
One knock against him is his Defensive rating seems a lil off (number is based on defensive box score). in 100 possessions teams scored 104.5 points on average while he was on the court. Mightve just been the team (since he was on the court most of the time) but youd think it would be lower considering all his defensive stats are pretty darn good. interesting
Great finisher at the rim. 41% of his shots are 3pointers (and his 3pt% isnt elite) so definately a volume shooter. also gets fouled a ton (FTA/FGA stat) 42% of his shots hes gettin fouled and hes finishing those FTs
here we can see his player rating based on barttorvik is in the 75 percentile. his boxplusminus is really good and his offensive game is good, but this shows that defensive boxplusminus is average to below average which is very interesting. his overall efficiency is low but it looks like thats cause hes shooting too many 3s while not being elite (his 2pt efficiency is really really good). great assist-turnover. hes not fouling out of games much.
imo Carr would increase the ceiling of this team pretty significantly. would be interesting to see how the staff would use him for sure, maybe he could slot into that SG spot and relieve some pressure off KD, but sounds like he'd want that STARTING PG role (would be tought to pry out of Wendell's hands). should be one to watch for sure!
