The good: Auburn with 424 yards (pretty evenly balanced) to 266 for Vandy. Held Vandy to 2-14 on 3rd downs. For this roster I'd have to give DC Roberts an "A" so far. We aren't great, but he gets a lot out of this bunch and they are more than respectable.

The bad: We were only 4-15 on 3rd down conversions on offense. I think we were low 30% for the season on conversions and rank close to the bottom of the conference. That needs to improve. We had 230 rushing yards, and that's solid, but we seem to be all or nothing in the run game. Obviously the long runs by Hunter padded those stats. We have a bunch of run plays that gain nothing or lose yardage. This is why we've been left to hang on at the end of the last two games. With good leads we don't need to be throwing much and we don't ever just lean on teams and grind out 4, 5, or 6 yard gains consistently. I'd also throw away the quick outs to the WR's. Those plays are consistently bad. We don't block them well at all.

The ugly: Unnecessary and a few questionable penalties cost us two touchdowns and 11 points off the scoreboard. Also some great field position. The drops were contagious and surely didn't help our 3rd down conversion percentage. One deep bomb that may have been a TD couldn't have been placed any more perfect and was right after Thorne made a poor throw on the same route. The pick 6 was an incredibly bad play by Thorne. Finally, the play of Fairweather in general. Terrible in every facet of the game.

This one could've been a 40 point win. We should probably take that as more of a positive than a negative. We won comfortably in spite of all of our self-inflicted issues today. No real threat on the scoreboard, but not an enjoyable game to watch at the end. Very similar to the MSU game last week.
