1. Fans were awesome. Students showed up. Excitement and energy everywhere. Great environment for college football. Appreciated how we showed Alabama A&M the hospitality they deserved and our fans in North End Zone giving repeated standing ovations to their band with hi fives was great.
2. Offense is totally different in terms of rhythm and potential. We could have lined up against air last year and not hit those deep balls. We needed this game to prove to the players they can do the basics and use their talent in the system. Now we must improve each week. OLine has some depth but we still don't have tackle nailed. This will come as we actually manage a college roster more responsibly for once and recruit accordingly.
3. Defense was vanilla but we got some challenges. No big blitzes but not a great rush either. We must stay healthy.
4. Special Teams - Freshman was great. We gloss over it but kid acted like he owned the place. Return game will be fine. Loved the punt block.
Love Auburn and love how our guys got to have a little fun. We are still a 7-8 win team but have ability to increase the probability of another couple of wins should we improve quarter by quarter and avoid major injury where we are thin on D. War Damn!
