1) Based off what you are hearing and what you have seen, would you bet over or under 6 wins for AU?
2) Based off what you said pre-camp, QB, OL, WR, and LB are the weaknesses. Can you access those 4 positions now and if they are better or worse than anticipated?
3) How good are the strengths of our team in the DL? Is the DL good enough to keep us in most every game we play and get us to a 7-8 win season assuming our offense can be at least SEC average?
4) My guess is if Harsin goes 6-6 or worse, he's probably done at AU. Auburn is in a very weird place in the NIL age of CFB. They are relatively behind in the game compared to the big boys, AUs rivals are UNREAL good right now, and the SEC is getting stronger. You have stated here that you think AU is a 2nd tier SEC program once Texas and Oklahoma join the league. What is success for AU in this new era of CFB? And what traits as a head coach would get us to this success both on and off the field?
My opinion on the head coach if we indeed do make a change. It needs to be a guy that the big money people at Auburn can collectively rally behind. It needs to be a charismatic guy that has vision, that knows Auburn and is fully aware of what it would take to make Auburn legitimate again as a very good football program that wins 9-10 games a year (bowl game included). It needs to be a guy that can assemble a hell of a recruiting enterprise that has Auburn recruiting once again in the Top 10ish range and winning some recruiting battles in AL and GA.
People have joked about Muschamp, but one thing I do know about Muschamp. He knows Auburn and the influential people at Auburn, he understands what it would take to make Auburn successful, he's a passionate dude with a lot of energy, and he's a very good recruiter that would assemble a very good recruiting enterprise. The on-the-field stuff I would question regarding his leadership, however. What other names would you like to see targeted?
