For those who may have missed some or all of that Colorado St vs Colorado game, this is ESPN’s 19 minute highlight review…and there are plenty of highlights from this game….

This is not required viewing but I know some of you will enjoy it. The post game (Alabama vs USF) podcast from Next Round (the Birmingham based daily 3 hour sports talk show on YouTube - all 3 guys big bammers) talking about Alabama’s “loss” to USF yesterday…. Yes, I know bammer won but a lot of bammer fans are taking it like a loss….a loss of their dynasty….including all 3 of these homers…again, not required viewing….but 56 minutes of smiles and laughter from me…you don’t normally get to see bammers like this cry and bitch like many fans do…especially Lance Taylor…

Some comments and observations about what I saw and heard yesterday…

1. Two minutes into the Alabama game yesterday I received a text from a buddy who is a big Bama guy informing me Milroe was suspended for yesterdays game and that was the sole reason the transfer from ND was starting….and he had not been very good the past week of practice. I asked him about the suspension and he said the only thing you’ll get from Alabama in the matter is “a violation of team rules”. Don’t recall seeing or hearing anything about that media wise yesterday but the 3 bammers in the video above mention the word “suspension” 2-3 times. I agree with their view that, after 3 games, as bad as Milroe can be at times he is the only QB that’s played they can win with.

2. The Sanders kid (QB) at Colorado is exceptional and fun to watch. He is talked about as a first round talent and he may be…I just wonder if he can or will respond to coaching (from someone other than his father) as well as he does with his father.

3. I guess I still want to see the Buffalos play and beat a ranked contender and that game will happen this coming Saturday….at least the opportunity will…when they play Oregon. Thereafter they will have other opportunities against stout PAC-12 competition.

4. I still don’t know about our team. I can see it’s still not as talented as it needs to be and, in my view, as quick on offense as it needs to be — but am still hoping Freeze and his band of recruiters will bring more speed and quickness on offense (and talented QBs) to the Plains. I am convinced that in todays game you cannot win without a bell cow QB and a lot of speed and quickness on offense.

I think our speed and quickness on defense is good but want more talent and quickness on our DL.

5. Worried about our first conference game this weekend but I always worry about conference games. A&M has an edge in talent and Jimbo may be coaching to save his job this year in spite of the obscene buyout so I expect their coaches and players to be extremely motivated. I am concerned about Thorne’s confidence in that environment (don’t understand why he is struggling with confidence with his experience) and our offensive line against A&M.

6. If Alabama is fading (as a program) now is the time to double down on recruiting effort and NIL $$$$$$$$$ like there is no tomorrow.

War Eagle and have a great Sunday!
