It was 3rd and 19, and we were up 3 TDs. A screen, QB keep, or handoff up the middle is safer. Punt the football, flip the field, and play defense. This is not to say that Gus is wrong; it is just a different philosophy that I think most coaches would agree with. The decision to go for the first only looks good when it works, and it is very low percentage.
