1. Percy Lewis. It was widely discussed he was not in playing shape at the arrival of fall camp. That alone could have sank the chemistry of the OL. How else do you explain and sizable step back in level of play from last season. AU was in some tight games with the two best teams in the conference and should have beat bama. This year the OL is the main reason we are 3-6. WRs can’t set the tone for the offense.
2. Thorne. He is a QB that can only provide serviceable play when the circumstances are right. We have all seen good QBs find a way to win games when they have bad statistical days. Thorne can’t do that. In fact today he had good stats but did not positively affect the outcome.
The defense deserves better. They are pretty much chained to a corpse. All they can do against teams with a pulse is try to stave off losing as long as possible but despite their efforts the inevitable comes. Hugh deserves large amounts of scorn at this point. And whomever agreed with him that Thorne just needed more support around him.
