We are 15 games into his Auburn tenure and he is 4-7 vs Power 5 teams. We looked “well coached” in 5 of those 11 games (wins vs Ark/State/Vandy and losses to Bama/UGA). I think I am being pretty nice to count all those as well coached. I don’t mind losing to better teams but the other 6 games we looked badly prepared and poorly coached. And that does not include NMSU - the worse loss in the past 40 years.
We had 200 yards passing in just two of those 11 games - Miss State and Maryland. (Not sure Maryland should even count as our starter had 84 and Hank had 130 in mop up duty. ) The offense is bad. The concepts are bad. The execution is bad. The effort is not very good either.
I hope we can get better but at some point we need to admit how bad a job Hugh has done in the games. I admit he has recruited lights out - almost hard to believe how well - but (as Bryan has mentioned multiple times) that means nothing if your on-the-field product sucks. In 2024, there is nothing to prevent an exodus from a team that fails again and again. I hope we don’t see that happen on the plains.
