Female teacher reportedly asked the student not to refer to her as "ma'am". Apparently he said "yes ma'am" again after she asked him to stop and he was punished. The student was said to have been hospitalized last month for a seizure related incident involving memory loss which may have played a role but the teacher was unaware. She made him write ma'am over and over and have it signed by a parent as the punishment.
Kid is being taught to have manners and he gets punished. I guess it's possible he knew it was getting under the teacher's skin and kept saying it but i doubt that was the case.
