the numbers in parentheses at the top = roster numbers on georgia and bamas current roster to give an idea of roster construction
assumptions based on roster situation
offense
--- wr room- need to bring in at least 3 more outside guys and need to layer eligibliity. 2 freshman + 1 portal ideal. maybe 2 portal if another leaves. probably losing a slot to the portal too
---- ol room- need at least 3 more, even more if some leave for the portal. need some juco/portal guys int here, heavily weighted towards freshman right now as our backups
---- qb room- rare to have 5 guys in that room. probalby 2 gone if we're bringing in a portal guy
---- te room- still questions on how redshirt years during covid affect eligibility (ie fromm, lawrence johnson, etc). think 1 or 2 of fromm/frazier/deal return with most likely frazier. collins not gonna be there much longer but probably bring in a freshman + portal which is still heavy on tight ends
--- rb room- crowded if jarquez returns. even more crowded if we bring in a freshman too. getting veteran heavy as well. if hunter comes back one of these might hit the portal. something to watch
defense
---jack- looks better with waller. could probably use another portal guy but room is crowded
---dline- nasili kite might can come back with medical redshirt. played 5 games this year. not sure how that works. marcus harris has 1 more year but i think he goes pro. need another starting caliber guy unless we go with rogers+jones. that 2 deep looks sketchy though unless we rely on some freshman. wouldnt be surprised if some of the NTs portal
--- lb - asante + keys will be nice next year. levant is a senior and might be gone but has another year. depth is sketchy if we're relyiing on freshman. need a portal guy or two here probably. maybe a juco as well
--- star- probably kaufman but he could move back to safety. smith could also move to safety. love mostly played here on the field when he played. need a freshman to step up and probably add one. scott could return but is gonna get good NFL scores. assumption here but i think one of scott/dillon wade are gone
---cb - klee certified starter. questions on the other spot. very young room. probably need one portal guy here
---S- big questions here. is laquan good enough? gotta wait and find out. probably gotta add two at least here from the portal and get some experienced players
right now we got 5 spots available. i think we need to gun for at least 4 starter caliber guys (WR-Z, B-CB, DE, FS) and 14 depth guys (2 WRs, 3 OL, 1 QB, 1TE, 2DL, 2 LB, 1Star, 1CB, 2 S) left to add to the roster before next year depending on which other freshman we add/which guys we lose to the portal
guys that could leave early for NFL as of now = Keionte Scott, Dillon Wade, Jarquez Hunter, Marcus Harris. assumption but i think we keep 2 out of thoose 4
