evaluatin qbs is TRICKY BIZNESS
so heres more stuff to think about when lookin at tha QBs we targettin
ol DEUCE KNIGHT is gettin pretty popular lately
#1 DUAL THREAT QB for this class with a 6'4 190 frame
so i went ahead and looked at past 5 years of QBs listead as DUAL THREATs by rivals (only lookin at top 5 cause that keeps it within top 250 rivals range. outside of that gets tricky)
2024
these guys dont really stand out. lagway might get playin time at flawda but mertz is likely the starter. also hes about 40 pounds heavier than ol DEUCE. demond williams, hawkins and wilson are all qb2s this upcominseason. luke moga pretty far behind
gotta wait and see on all 5
2023
this is where things get interestin
1. avery johnson- startin qb for kstate gonna be one to watch. will be watchin to see how he does
2. pierce clarkson- in a qb battle with tyler shough at louisville. dont think theyve named the starter yet (a little shorter more shiftier dude than deuce)
3.) aidan chiles- transferred to mich st and named starter. very similar build to deuce, reports are that hes killin it but we will see
rickie collins and gabarri johnson both qb2s (johnson transferred to oregon state)

2022
1.) weigman- starter for tamu this season. pretty similar build to deuce but way better arm
2.) stockton- benched at uga and we aint seen him. lotta bunks love his azz
3.) mj morris- was heavily linked with au portal scouts. pretty similar to deuce. qb2 behind our guy mccall
4.) nick evers- startin qb at uconn after getting benched multiple times
5.) jacurri- transferred to ucf, qb2 behind kj jefferson with gus over there. again really similar build to ol deuce and pretty similar player. didnt really work out at miami

1.) nfl first overall pick
2.) couldnt get past bo nix, is over at tulane now
3.) qb1 at bama, very similar build to deuce. wonder if his film matches up
4.) converted to WR at indiana. was actually pretty good top 5 wr in big10
5.) qb1 at ole miss. was actually heavier than deuce is atm which is kinda weird to think about

1.) bryce another overall 1st pick
2.) converted to wr plays at USCe. NOT GOOD

5.) really good runnin back is actually transferred to arkansas this year. one of the few successful position change qbs

so pretty high ceiling of bryce young/caleb williams in this group (dont think deuce has shown anywhere close to the arm talent they have tbh) with a floor of converted wr at south carolina who had 13 catches for 123 yards...
knock on wood though, the top dual threat qb in each class has done pretty dang well. definately want to see how the florida qb and the kstate qb end up doin this season! they both look pretty good on film
deuce definately worth taking a shot on if we can end up flipping him from the irish

One thing ive been looking at recently in terms of "transfer portal success" is how many snaps (particularly snaps as a freshman) a qb has taken before transferring main reason i thought of this was the success of bo nix. imo it was crucial for bo's success at oregon to have as much experience...
