OFFENSE:
DEFENSE:
obviously this isnt accounting for future early NFL entrants + portal exits
the ones with questionable eligibility = tate johnson/jeremiah wright (both listed as juniors, likely could come back a year) and austin keys (listed as a senior, thought he had 1 year left tho). percy lewis also listed as a senior but during portal season said he had 2 years eligibility remaining (went backand checked). yall let me know if you got a clue about these guys
but gives a good idea of what we're lookin at for recruitin
the numbers by each position = typical # of players at each spot based on "elite" rosters (alabama, ohio state, michigan, georgia 2022-23 data. will be updated in a couple weeks once rosters get updated on official websites)
11 spots left = should be about 7-8 offense/3-4 defense
offense=
1-2 qb
2-3 rb
1-2 TE
at least 2 wr (lowest # ive seen is 9 on michigan's roster last year. interested to see updated numbers this summer. imo we need 4 more might add through portal)
1-2 OL
(we've been wayyy heavy on tight ends compared to others in the past. exception is michigan who had 7 on the roster last year? gonna have to double check. we might need to follow the michigan model if we keep going heavy tightends though)
defense =
1buck
1DL
1LB
maybe 1 more safety
(past couple of years the elite rosters have been heavily weighted towards linebackers, interested to see if its shifted any last year)
^above is assumptions based on roster numbers more than who we're currently recruiting
