This may not be everyone’s cup of tea. I thought it was borderline genius. Like actual art. But I’m also prone to exaggeration when I like something. The premise is that he uses elaborate “rehearsals” (with sets and actors) so a real person can make a decision or figure out how to handle something complicated in their life. The first episode doesn’t prepare you for the rest of the series. Each episode is connected but completely different.
I loved his show Nathan For You, but didn’t know what I was getting into with this new series. If you like weird, borderline-avant garde comedy, give this a try. For those not familiar with Nathan Fielder, his comedy kind of reminds me of Sacha Cohen (who he has directed for in the past), but that doesn’t really prepare you either.
No spoilers, but the finale is something you’ll either love or hate as it’s own thing, even if you loved the first five episodes.
