“My brother going there is cool, but I still want to find a home for me. I love the atmosphere it is very loud great time every-time I been. I’m ready to see more.”

Britt is one of the top players in the state and would add even more momentum to what Auburn has already established thus far.

The U.S. is tracking a high-altitude balloon flying over the Western part of the country, U.S. officials told CBS News. Military aircraft have spotted the balloon and determined it is not a threat, but its origin and purpose is still unknown, the officials said.

Inflation reduction act doing the exact opposite of what it promised...

Inflation is soaring again, rate cuts are off the table, possible rate hikes looking very possible....

Act was supposed to cut chinese imports, but no, they blow up - especially the products made with slave labor and those which leave behind radioactive waste....

Once again, biden and dems say one thing and do the other. That is the norm with them. Can't destroy the republic fast enough.

Biden's Inflation Reduction Act, Meant To Counter China, Prompted Explosion in Chinese Battery Imports

Imports of Chinese lithium batteries have increased more than 500 percent since Biden took office

In July 2022, weeks before President Joe Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, the Democrat said the bill would "give us the ability … to compete with China" and its dominant battery industry. One year later, U.S. imports of Chinese-made batteries jumped to record highs, according to a Washington Free Beacon review of Census Bureau data.
Biden's flagship climate bill created several subsidies to facilitate America's transition to a green energy economy, including tax credits of $7,500 for electric vehicles, $1,000 for electric vehicle chargers, and 30 percent of the cost of installing solar panels. But China has a stranglehold on the global supply of rare earth materials needed to produce those technologies, and trade data show that imports of Chinese electric vehicle components have exploded since Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law.

American imports of Chinese lithium-ion batteries—a critical component in electric vehicles—have increased over 500 percent since Biden took office, Census Bureau data show. In 2020, the year before Biden took office, the United States imported just $2 billion worth of lithium-ion batteries from China. In 2023, imports of Chinese lithium-ion batteries jumped to over $13 billion.
The import increase was especially pronounced after Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act. From January 2021 through July 2022, before Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, lithium-ion battery imports from China averaged $473 million per month. After the law was signed, imports averaged over $1 billion per month.

The 2023 figure likely represents just a fraction of China's total haul from Inflation Reduction Act subsidies, according to James Madison Institute senior vice president Sal Nuzzo. Nuzzo noted that China is sidestepping rules that prohibit subsidized products from using battery materials from China or other "foreign nations of concern."
"Nearly 70 percent of cobalt is produced in Africa, mainly in the Congo," Nuzzo told the Free Beacon. "Okay, so the country may be friendly. However, the mine is owned by a Chinese conglomerate or a multinational controlled by the Chinese government. So you can put the regulation in place—it's got to be sourced from a friendly country. But who owns the facility that the materials are coming out of?"
"When you peel back the onion, it becomes clearer and clearer that the provisions in the IRA basically could have been written directly by the Chinese Communist government," Nuzzo continued. "Even the things that conceivably are designed to try and limit the expansion of Chinese influence are written in a way where it's abundantly clear there are workarounds."

Indeed, a 2022 Energy Department report acknowledged that China has "across the board" control of the global supply of rare earth materials needed for clean energy technologies. And the Biden administration has moved in recent months to neuter "Buy American" provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act and the earlier $1 trillion infrastructure law, to China's benefit.

Most recently, in 2023, the Biden administration waived "Buy American" requirements for federally funded electric vehicle chargers. The 2021 infrastructure law included $5 billion to build out a nationwide network of charging stations, but as of December, only two states have opened stations funded by the measure, the New York Times reported.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) spearheaded a bill to block the waiver, saying the funds should be used to buy charging stations "made by Americans in America using American products."

But Biden vetoed the bill, which passed Congress with bipartisan support from Sens. Sherrod Brown (D., Ohio) and Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.), in January. The president said in a statement that domestic manufacturers need more time to ramp up production.

"There is absolutely no sane reason to funnel taxpayer dollars to Chinese companies," Rubio said following Biden's veto. "President Biden should act in the interest of the American people, follow the bipartisan wishes of Congress and stop favoring foreign industry."

I’m saying this

With the upmost sincerity. I genuinely hope you have made peace with whatever you need to make peace with. For the past several years you’ve seen the influx of immigrants come into this country at a record pace.

You have also witnessed a spy ballon marking different military bases in the us. China buying up farmland near the military bases and sending into military aged males at a record pace. I hope you can do whatever you have to do to make peace becuase when it’s time their will be a coordinated takeover of our beloved nation.

A number of Chinese men have been showing up in numbers near the fort benning area. When asked 1 stated it’s all part of the plan. Get yourself ready please.

Best Freshman Guard in CBB plays for WSU (top 25 team)

His name is Myles Rice and how he made it out of Columbia SC is a mystery. This kid is 6'3" / 180 lbs and his stats this year through 27 games is impressive. He averages 32.5 min a game and starts
for the PAC 12 leader - Washington State. 21 games he has scored in double figures, and only 6 games has he gone for single digits. He leads the team in assists at 3.7 a game, and his assist to turnover
ratio is 1.5 / 1.0 which for a freshman going up against upperclassmen who could be 4-5 years older speaks volumes to his court demeanor.

Myles is 2nd on the team in points per game - 15.5, and corrals 3.0 rebounds as well. He has started every game and his offensive stats include 44.6% overall FG, with a decent 31.8% 3-Pt 34/107 attempts. His FT percentage is 80.4%, 2nd best on the team. And he has 44 steals.

Yes, it is difficult for freshman PG's to consistently do well throughout their first college basketball season, but Myles seems to have broken the code. Try and catch a game of his when March Madness starts. It would be worthwhile for AU MBB to reach out to him for a potential transfer as the PAC 12 is no more.

HOOPS Bruce Pearl quick notes (2/22)...

Bruce Pearl is speaking to the media Thursday afternoon to preview Saturday's game at Georgia. Here's a summary...

** The league is maybe as good as it's ever been. We might get nine teams in the NCAAT and really there are 11 teams including Georgia that are in range. They've had a good year. Their home losses -- ALA, UK, USC, UT -- they were all close. UGA is still fully engaged.

** UGA has a good backcourt. Their guard are good. They're good at the 4 and they've improved at the 5.

** UT has won five road games, UA, UK and USC have won four. We've won three. We have not played well on the road. We've not shot it well. But we have three more opportunities to dispel that. It's not going to be easy.

** We will be without Jaylin Williams. He will travel with us to UGA. The injury didn't do any major damage. After UGA, we'll go from there (game by game). Initially thought it could be 10-14 days but we'll see.

** Some of the best teams in our league has 3-4 really good guards. It takes more than just a couple playing well for us. There needs to be a step-up on the defensive end and we need to shoot it better. Our guards haven't shot well in SEC play.

** Our 38% FG defense is one of the best Pearl's ever had. Says a lot about our effort.

** Chaney Johnson is in almost every morning shooting. He'll have an opportunity to play more. Replacing Jaylin will be by committee. We've won when Jaylin has played well. Hasn't been the case when he hasn't played well.

** Held UK 20 under their average. You told me that and I think we should win. We can do a better job rebounding. We got to stop the shot and then get the ball. Limit 2nd-chance points.

** Took a couple of days off. Needed it mentally more than anything. We have five games left in regular season and players know they're all important. We can finish from 1-7 in the SEC.

** Bye week helped us get organized without Jaylin. We needed it. Been a grind since start of SEC play.

*****THAT'S ALL*****

Texas man charged with insider trading

A Texas man made almost $2 million by illegally trading on his wife's conversations with her BP Plc colleagues, according to the US Securities and Exchange Commission in its latest case about couples eavesdropping while working from home.

For months, Tyler Loudon bought shares in TravelCenters of America Inc., the SEC said on Thursday. He liquidated his brokerage and retirement accounts and in February 2023, when BP announced it was buying TravelCenters of America at a 74% premium, Loudon made a $1.76 million profit. His wife, then a BP mergers and acquisitions manager who was working on the deal, was unaware of his trading, the regulator said.

According to the SEC, Loudon's eavesdropping extended abroad. While traveling in Rome, the SEC said Loudon sat nearby his wife while she worked on the TravelCenters deal from a small rented apartment.

Tucker claims the Russian economy is amazing after visiting a grocery store on his propaganda tour...

Is Tucker really this stupid or does he just think his fans are all morons? Let's get our resident economics expert @Eagle to tell us why Tucker is correct to conclude that being able to buy a lot of groceries with dollars in Russia is evidence of how great things are for Russian peasants who spent 30%+ of the rubles they earn on groceries.

Welp, I did it

I took a job I felt like I could not pass up. Got the job in May and they demanded I report to them on May 15th. Mind you, my first baby girl was born May 11th. We bought a house 6 weeks later. That was an experience. My wife who was still feeling like she got hit by a logging truck was helping me the entire way. Trying her best. Packing all our stuff and moving to So AL, in the middle of the summer with my little family is memory I'll never forget.

It seemed almost instantly when I was hired the switch flipped. Accusations, fake deadlines, Disrespect, and lack of resources.

I am 30 and was teaching 27 kids. 14 classes and 14 labs combined in summer, fall, and spring. Recruiting. Community Outreach. Constantly talking to Private industry and government agencies.

The emails were getting worse and the other weekend my wife pretty much heard the way my boss was talking to me, and she was fed up. She knows how hard I work and how much effort it took to move down to a place with zero friends or family.

The last bad email was how I missed the deadline when I was never given one. I was not allowed to take the kids outside until that was completed. That was the final straw for me. Punishing my kids.

I don't understand how a teacher is responsible for creating policy/liability forms for a state institution. Maybe I am wrong.

I had a meeting yesterday and planned to leave if things did not get better. I spilt my heart out and went to bat for the students. There is no way I can teach and hold all my responsibilities with the relationships we currently have. They pretty much responded asking does this mean I quit. At that point I said yes and left. I think they wanted me gone for a while.

This does put me in a little hole. My parents are disappointed. But I feel like it is a blessing. The moment I knew it was over, me and my wife went to job searching, making flyers, and spending invaluable time with each other. Brainstorming a plan. Working together. All while next to me, my 9-month-old is trying to walk and screaming dada right there next to us.

I believe in myself and truly feel like this was the right decision. We love this community and our neighbors.

I am a registered forester in COV county. Contract Cruising, prescribe burning, and Wildlife management are my skills. If y'all know anyone near this area looking for someone, please let me know. Just a guy who likes to show up and do the job right, so I can go home and see my family. WDE
