2nd and 3rd biggest concern for AU Football this season

I have been listening to some CFB podcasts, and it seems there are question marks on many teams outside of maybe 4-8 teams nationally.

I think its fair to say that QB play is the biggest factor for Auburn if they want to overachieve. Im interested in what you think is concerning after that.

Depth seems to be somewhat answered. And depth is an issue that I think 98% of the CFB deals with. There are probably 1-2 teams that feel decent about depth throughout the roster.

My 2nd biggest concern is playcalling. Hard to imagine it being bad but can it take a big step forward? Can HEW balance his time with recruiting, head coaching, and now running the offense?

Auburn ranked 117th in the NCAA last year in 3rd down conversions. Does a playcaller moves that 32% number to an area closer to 40%.

My 3rd biggest concern is run-stopping. I am probably much higher on the DL than most, but I don't know if we have a truly dominant player in the middle. I like the options. But I dont' know if we have a group that can set the tone for a game.

Interestingly, Auburn had a pretty dominant 3rd down defense in 2023 in spite of ranking near the bottom of the conference in rushing allowed.

So..

1. QB play
2. Playcalling
3. Rush Defense

Why Trump won

First off, congratulations to all the Trump supporters.

So I regularly follow a blog that a couple of political scientists have written since 2004 that was the first site aggregating polls.. They’re both pretty left wing and are wanting reaction to those of us who regularly follow their site. I wrote this in response as to why Harris lost. Enjoy.

Every election is about something. There’s always a reason voters break the direction they do. In 2004 it was a rally around the flag for Bush. 2008 it was a crumbling economy. 2012 was reelecting a guy who was repairing things. 2016 was the forgotten man. 2020 was Covid and Corruption. 2024 was about inflation hammering the middle class and the Biden administration doing nothing to help.

First off, I understand the talking points about global inflation and Covid. While these were real, what did Biden do to actually curb it? Biden made the matter worse.

Biden started off his term with trade tariffs. These tariffs could have been rescinded without Congress since they were enacted without Congress. This could have been done day one when people were suffering from the Covid economy. Instead Biden passed a Covid spending bill that was extreme. We needed to distribute the vaccine and then tell everyone that they were on their own. Instead we gave them government money that we were just taxing back through trade tariffs.

Starting summer of 2021, the right wing media rightly started pointing at the inflation as an issue and Biden largely ignored it. As the months went on, I even wrote in to you mentioning how destructive trade tariffs have been over the course of our country’s history. While you acknowledged that tariffs are harmful to our economy historically (eg Smoot Hawley), you claimed they were necessary to punish China. Meanwhile, Americans suffered.

In 2022, because an election was coming up, Dems elected to pass the “Inflation Reduction Act” which simply spent more money. Taxes weren’t raised for this. The interest rate hikes started to further hammer the middle class but were necessary because who wants to buy government debt that’s becoming more risky every day? Deficits are still exploding thanks to all of this risky spending passed by Trump and Biden combined with tax cuts. While I agree both are to blame, who do Americans blame? The buck stops here.

So now, there’s global inflation worsened by trade tariffs and out of control government spending sending out “free” money for liberal issues. Government Debt is now our 3rd largest expenditure and it’s gaining on Social Security. Please read that twice: America spends more on government debt on November 7th, 2024 than it does on Defense. Biden was hired to fix problems and you could see the post Covid inflation bomb coming in March of 2020. Biden made it worse.

Just so we’re all on the same page here, at the debate in September, Harris attacked Trump for his tariff plans claiming that the prices would be passed on to working class families at $4000 a year on average. I sat in awe as she admitted this knowing that Biden’s tariffs have affected me personally. In his only moment of clarity of the night, Trump simply replied, “Well y’all kept my tariffs in place.” Trump was 100% right. So Democrats want to attack Trump for a plan to punish me with inflation creating tariffs all while punishing me with inflation creating tariffs!

So how does this affect me? I work for a prominent logistics company in Memphis TN. Thankfully I already owned my house before interest rates spiked. I got a promotion that was simply normal career progression that earned me a 25% pay increase. 100% of that increase is gone to inflation. My company had 5700 jobs for me starting when inflation took off. They’ve cut 1000 jobs. The explanation is a 30% reduction in “Asian routes”. My union has been in contract negotiations for 3 years now and won’t be released to strike. Ever. Thanks “Railway Labor Act”. Thanks Biden.

I voted Harris because Trump is a unique threat to the freedom of every American. I voted Biden. After watching the incompetence, the lack of the understanding of high school economics, and the callous manner in which they’ve handled the economy, I plan to vote Libertarian from here on out. Trump will be off the ballot or maybe even deceased of natural causes in 2028. As a Never Trump Republican, I want smaller government, responsible budgets, and free trade. I’m getting big government from both parties, my 9 year old daughter will have her number one government expenditure be debt at this rate, and both sides hate me as a consumer and see my job as evil since it’s not a $13 an hour riveting job in a rust belt state.

I hope this clears up any confusion for Harris’s shellacking.

The wise election predictions of stump

Say it. Trump will win all 7 swing states, right?
El oh El well didn’t he?
You’re too dumb to see what’s going on here. MI is her safest swing state by polling .
