Broadcast during Nc State bowl game talking about him opting to redshirt mid year got me thinking about this and how it affects NIL. If a player does this, are the NIL deals written with clauses that the player doesn’t get paid if he opts out of the season? An injury or player redshirting with intent to return is one thing, but if a player opts to redshirt with intent to transfer 4 games into a 12 game schedule, does he owe 2/3 of his NIL deal back? Or does he not see the remainder of money if paid in installments?
